We didn’t have much money, but we had heart. We had recipes that told our story. So we started delivering meals door-to-door. From Massachusetts to New York, season after season, through the years until we built that space here in the Bronx, on Arthur Avenue—Yopcity where tradition and modernity meet in perfect harmony. Where West African flavors dance on every plate and laughter spills over from table to table. From the smiles of the staff who treat guests like old friends. It’s a place to celebrate birthdays, to reconnect with heritage, or to fall in love with a culture for the very first time.

The food was really good. There was nothing here that we got that was a throwaway. We tried the tilapia and the CROAKER fish. The chicken, the lamb, and both lamb dishes. And everything was really good.

We came here to watch Ivory Coast play at the World Cup. I wasn’t expecting much from the food but I have to say it was excellent. We enjoyed the authentic atmosphere and the service was fantastic. We will certainly come back here for more! I especially loved the fried plantains- not to miss!
